World food programme
JOB PURPOSE
Deliver a wide range of support activities and processes to facilitate the
effective delivery and implementation of the school meals programme and gender
related initiatives, that contribute to access to food for the most-vulnerable
children and families in targeted areas of Egypt.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES (not all-inclusive)
School Meals
- Support the operations of the School Meals programme, ensuring alignment with school meals policies and guidance.
- Follow-up closely with food and cash-based transfer requirements, delivery and distribution to beneficiaries, schools and to warehouses of cooperating partners.
- Collect and perform basic analysis of data to contribute to quality business information management and maintain records and databases to ensure information is organized and readily available for use.
- Review reports shared by cooperating partners, and collate information for inclusion in reports, documents, correspondences and information products.
- Support the implementation of school meals complementary activities and other related SO1 activities, such as for deworming, school rehabilitation and livelihoods support.
- Contribute to improvement of administrative and financial procedures and processes to contribute to the effective and timely management of resources.
- Participate in different periodic meetings or workshops with local stakeholders, and undertake briefing/awareness sessions with relevant partners as needed.
- Provide guidance to cooperating partners’ staff and to junior colleagues in performing their duties.

- Support the design, implementation and monitoring of gender and women’s empowerment initiatives within the different Strategic Outcomes.
- Track and monitor the submission of gender-related information and data, including updates on the implementation of the CO Gender Action Plans and contribute to reporting as necessary.
- Act as a Secretariat for the Gender Results Network Group of the Country Office.
- Liaise on a regular basis with the activity managers and teams for mainstreaming gender in projects and programmes.
- Support in the provision of capacity building for partners on technologies and different thematic areas, including the National Council for Women and others mandated with gender.
- Liaise on a regular basis with the Regional Gender Advisor and with the HQ GEN office.
