IT Development Developer
Job Purpose
The jobholder is responsible to participate and contribute to the successful
project delivery and implementation of local software applications and the
ongoing changes and releases while ensuring compliance with the software
development lifecycle and overall Barclays processes.
Following are the main duties and responsibilities:
• Reports to Head of Non-Core Banking Applications
• The jobholder participates in the delivery of locally developed non-core
applications with the required quality and within the agreed project boundaries
• Ensures alignment with the bank’s software development lifecycle and overall
Barclays processes
• Participates in the technical installation and configurations and support for
locally developed non-core applications
• Acts as second line support for incidents and issues related to locally
developed non-core applications
Main accountabilities and approximate time split
Main Accountabilities:
Application Design and Development
Time Split: 70%
• Develop new local applications and introduce changes to existing ones to meet
the required business needs and achieving the design goals
• Assist in the analysis and design of system requirements to fit the business
needs while meeting all the bank standards especially the security standards.
• Perform thorough testing of locally developed code to ensure the highest
quality standards
• Provide the necessary support to install and deploy the local applications
with the assistance of the domain support team
• Search and apply latest technology applicaple with the bank requirements.
• Continuously learn new technogies and improve his/her own technical skills
through self development and research
• Manage the delivery of the reqiured workshops and training sessions to the
bank users for related applications
• Ensure the completeness of the project and system documentation.
• Participate in the analysis of current systems to identify areas for
improvement

• Take prompt and effective action to rectify any problems or errors in the
systems within scope.
• Investigate customer problems and deliver reasonable solutions in the shortest
time possible.
• Ensure customer complaints are logged and personally revised and provide plans
for avoiding similar future cases.
• Ensure the support is fully controlled by the Service level quality agreed on
by the Bank.
Technical skills / Competencies
• Computer Science Graduate
• Expert in System Design and Programming Concepts
• Very Good Knowledge of Microsoft .NET (VB.NET, C#, ASP.NET)
• Very Good Knowledge of Database Development (T-SQL, PL/SQL)
• Knowledge in SharePoint and Microsoft Dynamics is a plus
• Good Track Record in Delivering Software Projects
• Good business awareness to complement the technical skills and customer
service orientation.

Knowledge, Expertise and Experience
Knowledge, Qualifications/ Experience:
Essential Computer Science Graduate (Bachelor of Engineering, Science or
Computer Science), 1-3 Years of Experience in Software Project Delivery
Preferred Banking Experience
