Completions Engineer
In this role you will:
Deliver safe,
compliant, reliable, competitive, and productive wells through multi-functional
collaboration in the design and execution of new well completions.
Assure that well control and process safety risks are recognized and led in
completions design and operations.
Provide technical guidance when execution issues or problems occur.
Support the sharing and implementation of lessons learned, standardization
opportunities, standard methodologies, success on new technology/technique
trials and operational efficiencies.
Coaching/mentoring of less experienced engineers.
Provides technical guidance for risk assessments and MoCs related to specific
completions operations
Provide engineering mentorship to completions design & operations per the
requirements
Prepare accurate completion time and cost estimates
Provide recommendations to and updates to the completion section of the well SOR
and provides inputs to MOCs when vital.
Develop completion design & operational programs that enforce to the Completion
Technical File Notes and associated Completion BoD.
Implement new completion procedures/practices/technology and shares findings
across assets and with other Regions through CoP discussions.
Develop and performance handle CE project plan against single or multiple well
project plans involving non-Wells collaborators e.g. Offshore Team, Operations,
Projects & Finance.
Assure the functional and technical specifications for tubulars, equipment, and
sandface completion practices to deliver the expected reliability &
rate/reserves.
Reviews benchmarking of completion execution and performance to identify areas
for continuous improvement.
Recommend and author completions and subsea tree procedure
Support Senior Completions Engineer and Completions Manager (Subject area Lead).
Ensures effective well project closure and well handover to Operations
Organization including handover documentation.
Able to work with an integrated facility consisting of production facilities and
rig operations which require SIMOPs planning and execution
We have the following requirements:
Bachelor of
Science Degree (or higher) in Engineering (preferably Mechanical, Chemical, or
Petroleum).
Demonstrate ownership and promote bp Core Values and Behaviors.
A minimum of 8 years’ experience in industry with focus on Completions and/or
Interventions Engineering and Operations. At least a portion of experience
should be in subsea completions.
Other Field specific: Completions Design, Interventions and Workover Engineering
& Operations, Subsea Operations, Sand Control, Fracturing and Stimulation, Well
Performance, Data Acquisition, Rig and Equipment, Perforating, Formation Damage,
Wireline, Coil Tubing, Fishing, etc.
Valid Well Control Certification.
Experience in offshore, deepwater operations, and subsea well engineering.
Extensive knowledge of sand control completions.
Excellent social skills and proven ability to work across functions (Wells,
Projects, Operations, ResDev) to deliver and optimize new well delivery.
Ability to challenge conventional thinking and identify and apply innovative
ideas to sophisticated problems.
Ability to apply logic and broad business and technical criteria in making
operations decisions.
Experience in petroleum engineering and production operations.
Experience working with Finance and PSCM and resolving performance issues with
suppliers
